Framing is more of an art form than the simple act of slapping four hunks of wood around a picture. There's a skill to it. A delicate, learned trade that offers a team of artisans, like those at Hull's, to enhance the presentation as well as protect the displayed artwork.
Steve Kovel, Barbara Hawes and Sean Murphy recently pooled their knowledge when they were asked to frame some recently discovered pictures dating back to 1840. It's that collective know-how and Old World craftsmanship that the on-site framing department at Hull's gives to its customers. If the framing needs are bulk or custom, a museum-level quality is the bottom line. And to quote framer Sean, "Blank walls are bad for the soul." |
